You are probably familiar with how face-to-face hypnotherapy works but feel a bit nervous about how the online online version works. Click on the buttons below to find the answers to some frequently asked questions.

Is Online Hypnotherapy as Effective as Face to Face?

Any client can have a face to face consultation with me in Hereford if that is their preference. However, online hypnotherapy sessions are perfect for those who for reasons of convenience, distance, weather conditions, health or mobility issues, would otherwise struggle to get to me in person. The great news is that there is no difference in effectiveness.

This is because hypnotherapy is a talking therapy, so what matters is that we can hear each other and communicate freely. When we get to the point in the session where I start the hypnotherapy, I will be asking you to sit or lie comfortably and close your eyes. The therapy happens as you listen to my voice with your eyes fully closed.

Does Online Hypnotherapy Really Work?

Yes, it works in exactly the same way as if you were visiting me in my clinic. The process is exactly the same, and you are not disadvantaged in any way by conducting the therapy session online.

All you need is a good Wifi connection and a relatively quiet space where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the session. You would put all your devices on silent so that you are not distracted by any notifications or attempts to contact you.

The hypnotherapy session is conducted in precisely the same way as it would be face to face. When we get to the point in the session where I begin the hypnosis, I will ask you to close your eyes. From that point onwards, your eyes will remain closed until the hypnotherapy is completed. The way in which the therapy works is all about the I use my voice (“modulate”) to help you become more deeply relaxed.

That is why there is no difference between hypnotherapy online and in person. Simply using my voice, I use relaxation techniques, visual imagery and positive suggestion to focus on the issue you want to overcome. The results are just the same as if you see me at my clinic in Herefordshire!

What Issues Can Online Hypnotherapy Help With?

Online hypnotherapy can be used to help you overcome a wide range of psychological issues. The most common issues for which clients seek my assistance include anxiety, stress, a lack of self-confidence, phobias and weight loss.

But there are many other areas for which hypnotherapy can equally be effective and helpful, such as moving on from marriage breakdowns, dealing with a devastating health diagnosis, dealing with chronic pain, or trying to process a significant loss or bereavement. A particularly uplifting area of my work is helping athletes and competitors to improve their sports performance and eliminate mental blocks which prevent them from reaching their potential.

There are lots of different reasons why online hypnotherapy might be a better option for you, so let’s have a look at what might lead you to make that excellent choice:

You lead a very busy life

Our schedules these days can be very hectic, juggling work, family and social commitments. If you physically don’t have to move from where you are right now, then it makes the possibility of having hypnotherapy sessions much more realistic. All you need is a gap of 50 minutes, at a time convenient to you.

Distance to my clinic

We all know that the traffic on the roads is increasing, and that even short distances can take an age to navigate. But you might live an hour away from my clinic, or you are travelling elsewhere in the UK for work. Perhaps you are going on holiday and you want to continue your therapy there. Or you might live in another country – I have clients who live in sunny Brazil! When distances become an issue, you don’t need to worry about travelling to see me in person and you can do so at a click of a button.

Health and Mobility Issues

If you have a mobility or health issue that makes it difficult to travel, then accessing help when you need it most may seem impossible. But it doesn’t have to be. Online hypnotherapy is a way to take control of the issues you are facing and make progress, without having to move from your own home, your sofa or your bed.

How Does the Process Work?

Hypnotherapy is about making positive changes in your health and well-being. The entire process is tailored specifically to your needs and focusses on bringing about the improvements you want to see. It works like this:

Getting in Touch

Call me directly or use a contact form to book an initial chat, where we can confirm whether hypnotherapy is right for you, and I can answer any preliminary questions. We can then book a first consultation.

First Meeting

I will be asking a lot of questions about you and the background relevant to your concerns. Everything discussed is confidential. We agree how future sessions will be structured.

Regular Sessions

In each session we will combine talking therapy with hypnosis to work on the specific issues that you seek to overcome. I use a variety of relaxation and visualisation techniques to achieve the changes you want. The process is complete when those positive changes are achieved. You leave the process feeling happier, calmer and in control.
