Why Can’t I Sleep?
The quality of our sleep is the clearest and most obvious indicator of our wellbeing. If we struggle to get to sleep, wake up in the middle of the night, can’t get back to sleep for hours, suffer from terrifying nightmares or sleep walk, then the fact of the matter is that our subconscious brain is hyperactive.
In other words, there is something “not right” psychologically, which needs to be addressed. Perhaps you have already been given sleeping tablets and/or anti-depressants in an attempt to help. Unfortunately, no amount of medication will get your subconscious brain to calm down, which is what needs to happen if you are to get a good night’s sleep.

Hypnotherapy is unique in that it targets the subconscious part of the brain that has become overactive and is keeping you awake. Using relaxation and visualisation techniques, the primitive subconscious starts to realise that there is no need to be on high alert all day and all night.
Once the subconscious starts to calm down, we can then work on any underlying anxieties that have caused the insomnia in the first place. It is essential to identify any triggers and address them, because otherwise the problem could recur in the future.
