If your physical training is as good as it can be, then your results should reflect your hard work. But it’s not as straightforward as that, is it? As many top athletes will tell you, unless you are mentally in the best shape as well, the results can be variable or even poor. Issues around self-confidence, anxiety, or previous injuries playing on your mind, can all affect your sports performance.

How can sports psychology and hypnotherapy help you improve?

In order to achieve your best sports performance, you need to be as calm and focused as possible. Any negative thought, feeling or emotion that gets in the way of that will have a negative effect.

I use a wide range of psychological techniques to: improve your confidence and self-belief; put past mistakes, injuries and fears behind you; and be as mentally focused as possible.

Hypnotherapy is one of the psychological tools that I use, and it can be very helpful. For example, it can help target the part of the brain that is giving rise to the anxiety, fear, low self-confidence or a preoccupation with past mistakes and injuries. It includes special relaxation and visualisation techniques that are designed to shift your attention to how you want your performance to be and create a positive mental template for the body to deliver.

Combining sports psychology and hypnotherapy, I have successfully helped sportspeople in all disciplines – including rugby, gymnastics, triathletes and equestrians.

Rebecca offers online consultations using Zoom, WhatsApp video chat & Skype. These sessions are just as effective as consultations in person. This is because hypnotherapy is a talking therapy, and during the hypnosis you will have your eyes closed. Accordingly, there is no disadvantage to conducting the hypnosis remotely from the comfort of your own home. As long as you have access to a comfortable chair, sofa or bed, the hypnotherapy will work in exactly the same way as it does face to face.

Rebecca runs clinics in Hereford and in Malvern in Worcestershire. The Hereford clinic is in easy reach of Hereford, Ledbury, Leominster, Kington , Abergavenny, Newent and Ross on Wye. The Malvern clinic is better for those in places such as Malvern, Worcester, Upton upon Severn.
